When should my child first see a
dentist, and why?
The ideal time for a child to visit the dentist is six
months after the child's first (primary) teeth erupt.
This time frame is a perfect opportunity for the
dentist to carefully examine the development of
the child's mouth. Because dental problems often
start early, the sooner the child visits the dentist,
the better. To protect against problems, such as
early childhood decay, teething irritations, gum
disease, and prolonged thumb or pacifier-sucking,
the dentist can provide or recommend special
preventative care.
As doctors say, prevention is better than cure, and early detection equates to early cure. Well, these are the main reasons why an early visit is recommended by our dear dentists. So if you want your kids to get protected, schedule their visit the earliest recommendable time.

I totally agree with this one. A baby should be brought on a dentist visit in his or her 6th month, as this will help the dentist study teeth growth. The dentist can also help prepare the baby and the parents for the teething stage.

Aside from taking your child to the dentist once the first tooth pops out, you should also consider visiting the dentist whenever your child starts eating/drinking anything other than breast milk. Remember, tiny bits of food can damage their growing teeth, so it's best to visit your dentist once they’re able to eat meat and vegetables.
